Last week, my mom mentioned something she had come across online – beaten coffee or Indian cappuccino. I looked it up and found out how to make it…Long story short, I’ve been having it every evening as a pick-me-up 🙂
This method gives you frothy, comforting and creamy coffee without a coffee machine and it uses just muscle power for a fabulous end result 🙂
I make my cappuccino using Trader Joe’s 100% Colombian Instant Coffee powder but I’m sure you can use other instant coffee powders like BRU or Nescafe.

How to Make Beaten Coffee or Indian Cappuccino
Hand-beaten, frothy, creamy coffee without a coffee machine.
Pour the milk into a saucepan and bring it to a boil
While the milk is boiling, put the coffee powder and sugar in a mug along with one teaspoon of water. Start mixing it with a small spoon.
Keep stirring and beating the mixture briskly, until the color starts to change and become lighter. Beat the coffee mix in one direction only so that you incorporate as much air as possible in it.
Once the mixture is creamy, fluffy and of a caramel color, you can stop mixing it.
Add the boiled milk to the coffee mixture and stir to combine. Your beaten coffee is ready! It is thick, frothy and creamy - just like the cappuccinos you get at a coffee shop!
So now that you know the procedure, you can treat yourself to a professional Indian cappuccino at home
